What Does the Westbrook Education Fund Do?
The Westbrook Education Fund supports regular activities such as monthly evenings of recollection and weekend retreats given by priests of the Opus Dei Prelature of the Roman Catholic Church.
It also holds professional-development seminars and courses in philosophy. These activities are tailored to meet the needs of workers and professionals as well as those of university and college students.
As a longer-term goal the Westbrook Education Fund also hopes to provide student residences at universities and colleges in British Columbia and to establish cultural and conference centres in the Lower Mainland.
The Westbrook Education Fund also serves as a vehicle for donors from British Columbia and elsewhere to support other worthwhile initiatives such as:
The Pontifical University of the Holy Cross
The Pontifical University of the Holy Cross is a pontifical college in Rome at which is taught philosophy, theology and canon law at the licentiate and doctorate levels to priests, seminarians, religious and lay people from around the world. Many of the students attending the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross are from developing countries and require scholarship assistance.
