What is the Spirit of Opus Dei?
Opus Dei's mission is to promote a profound awareness of the universal call to holiness among men and women from all walks of life, moving them to lead a life consistent with their faith and to contribute to the evangelization of every sphere of society. In short, its mission is to spread the message that all Christians have been called by God to seek holiness both in and through their daily work, family life and social relations as well as to make the Gospel known throughout the world. To follow this spirituality means to exercise human and Christian virtues whilst carrying out one's work in the ordinary course of one's life, as co-creator and co-redeemer with God, following the example of Jesus Christ.

This website summarizes the life of St Josemaria, and the worldwide devotion to this saint. It also offers summaries of the main aspects of Saint Josemaría’s message, such as the Christian vocation to holiness, sanctification of work, and divine filiation. The website also presents personal testimonies, such as that of Roger Bissonnette, a school-bus driver from Québec: “I was practicing my faith, going to Mass every Sunday, but it never occurred to me that I could seek holiness. That, I thought, was only for priests and religious. But when my wife gave me some of Saint Josemaría’s homilies to read, I woke up to the fact that I too could become a saint. It was great news.”
